Discipline Guidance Package

What is this resource?Early in 2014 the U.S. Department of Education partnered with the U.S. Department of Justice to release one of the most comprehensive guidance packages on school climate and discipline. The guidance package includes five major components: Dear Colleague Letter on the Nondiscriminatory Administration of School Discipline, Guiding Principles, Directory of Federal School Climate and Discipline Resources, Compendium of School Discipline Laws and Regulations, and an Overview of the Supportive School Discipline Initiative.

Why is it valuable?This package is helpful to districts and schools as they consider how to implement policy aligned positive behavior practices in an inclusive framework.
